Bissell Clinic Physical Therapist, Roberta

Roberta Brehm, D.P.T.

Santa Barbara Doctor of Physical Therapy | Roberta Brehm

Roberta grew up in Ventura County and graduated summa cum laude from Mount St. Mary’s University in Los Angeles with a bachelors in education and English studies. It was during college that she first was introduced to the healing power of both chiropractic and physical therapy when rehabilitating from computer overuse and martial arts injuries. After college she went on to teach high-school English and then volunteered for a year in post-Katrina New Orleans.

Roberta enjoyed teaching but decided that she wanted to work more one-on-one with people. She elected to attend physical therapy school in Boston at the world-renowned MGH Institute of Health Professions where she earned her doctorate in physical therapy. Roberta’s training has exposed her to a variety of settings including chronic pain treatment programs, a geriatric-focused therapy clinic, and her final rotation was at University of Michigan hospital in both inpatient and outpatient rehab settings. In treating her patients she continues to use her teaching background along with her therapy skills.

In her spare time, she enjoys weightlifting, yoga, spin classes, singing, learning the Celtic harp, and traveling.
